Seven minutes in the morning could make a difference about how you approach your day. The presented routine can enhance your productivity, attitude and health. The routine is described minute by minute. Read on.
Prepare. The technique described needs a little preparation. Find a quiet place. You can arrive early in the morning, before colleagues arrive. You can also make it in a quiet room at home. Have a watch and follow the timing.
Minute One: Clear your head. You have to clear your head. The technique is very similar to meditation. Even if you are not much into meditation, every person needs to do that regularly. Clearing your head means to be present as you prepare for the day.
Minute Two: Breathe. Breathing deeply has a calming effect and helps focusing. You need to stop and set your thinking to the right frame of mind. Sit quietly and breathe.
Minutes Three Through Six: Write Notes and Draw. Write down the first few thoughts that come to mind. Do that before you start with the daily tasks. It helps to figure out what is important and what is stressful. Don’t be too focused and don’t think too much. It is a record of your current thoughts and mental state.
Minute Seven: Debrief. The last minute is dedicated to your notes and drawings. What do they mean. Look over it and make a brief plan – which of the things you noted is most important. Then decide how to deal with it. Focus on it and address it during the day.
